2010 – OUR CURRENT GOALS:

Having been a part of the Stonewall Riots and the first Gay Pride Parade in NYC, and the GAY man who saved Woodstock, and active in the struggle for EQUALITY for the LGBT nation for so many years, I now have this NEW DREAM: GAYSTOCK, a Three Days of Peace, Love, Music & EQUALITY event ASAP!

Whoever you are, wherever you are, won't you join me in securing a venue or many venues to hold a historic event (long past due). My dream is to have a mega meeting of the GLTB nation fighting in our struggle for Equal Rights for everyone. We need to fight hate crimes that are mostly ignored by the authorities and media. We need to secure equal rights for marriage, adoption, and our families.

We need President Obama to step up and follow through on the campaign promises he made. He knows that the enormous voting power of the GLBT community for sure got him elected. Obama needs to throw out that horrific Don't Ask Don't Tell policy that has ruined the lives of thousands upon thousands of gay and lesbians who served our country with bravery. We need our governement to put sanctions on China and other corrupt dictatorships that imprison and execute GLBT persons just for being themselves.

Just because many of us enjoy safe secure lives by not speaking out for those who don't puts us all in jeoprody! I'm a filmmaker, and am angry at the movie industry for their lack of sensitivity to their portrayals of us. My recent movie: Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock, based on my bestselling book, shows a decent sensitive gay man. Most films show us as demented, psychotics, murderers, druggies, misfits. That is a miniscule portion of our population certainly, but not the majority.

At our Gaystock, we will provide a stage for as many talented performing artists, musicians, singers, entertainers, filmmakers from the GLBT community as we can. Sure, we will have A-list entertainers, but that is not what a Gaystock Festival will be about. We will establish and award Gaystock Humanitarian Awards to those such as Bruce Springsteen, Ang Lee, James Schamus, Cyndi Lauper, Cynthia Nixon, Sen. Barney Frank, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, K.D. Lang - who contribute both funds and their talents to bring out understanding and change. There is a long list of prominent persons that we hope to honor.

GAYSTOCK, LLC, is a Delaware corporation. We are now in the process of creating: Gaystock Humanitarian Foundation, LLC, a non-profit organization.

GLBT CENTERS NATIONWIDE, WORLDWIDE
